Welcome to my sports blog. My name is Johnny. I live in this great country called Canada. I love all kinds of sports, especially hockey, football, and boxing. My favorite recreational sport is fishing. My favorite teams are the Washington Capitals (yup, even though I'm Canadian) and the Kansas City Chiefs. I know, I know.... I'm still waiting for a championship. But I'm sure I'll get one before I die. So now enough about me, it's time for sports talk.

LET'S GO WILDCATS!!! Wow, what a weekend. First we traveled to Quebec this weekend to play our final football exhibition game. Final score: Cornwall Wildcats 20 - Gatineau Vikings 0. My son Lucas got the first touchdown of the game, an 8-yard reception which proved to be the game winner. LET'S GO WILDCATS!!! It was hot as hell, but well worth it. We head into Orleans next week for our first real game against the Bengals. Let's hope we can have a repeat performance. Then my daughter Julia was awarded the pretigious Editor's Choice Award for her cool poem "Finding Me". Keep it up, kids. We're so proud of you both. Check out the picture below, we're the team in red.

Als & Sabres

The Alouettes improved to 7-0 for the first time since 2002, the last year they won the Grey Cup. Ok, so they beat up on a banged up Toronto team that has more injuries than "Contact C" has little balls, but we still know where this is going. See you at the parade, Montreal!

In NHL action, the Buffalo Sabres are finally putting the media to rest. Yes, $5 million is a lot for Daniel Briere, but they are showing that they have confidence in last year's (almost) Stanley Cup hero. If they can keep last year's team and do a little tweaking (and I don't mean changing their colors AGAIN), they will have a great shot at the Cup again. Buffalo is one of the leagues hardest working teams and can possibly win it all, unless they play the Washington Capitals (Sorry Jim, couldn't hold back on that one).
